1.             General notes on data privacy and security

Many thanks for your interest in our website. The privacy of the personal data of anyone using our website is important to us. Naturally we adhere to the statutory provisions of the data privacy laws, such as the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), the German Telemedia Act (TMG) and other data privacy provisions.

BFFT Gesellschaft für Fahrzeugtechnik mbH has taken on the task of preserving the confidentiality of personal data and users’ data (e.g. applicants’ data), as well as data of contracting parties, that is especially sensitive.

The subject of the data privacy is personal data. The latter includes, for instance, details such as name, postal address, e-mail address or telephone number, and, if applicable, also usage data or master data, such as the IP address. The institution responsible within the meaning of the data privacy laws is BFFT Gesellschaft für Fahrzeugtechnik mbH (hereinafter referred to as “BFFT”).

When you visit our website – without entering any data – no personal data is recorded. The information required by us to record the connection, such as the name of the file accessed, the date and time of access, the quantity of data transmitted, the notification about successful access, the web browser used and the domain the request came from, is recorded by us in an anonymised form. In addition, the IP addresses of the PCs the request came from are recorded. This data is evaluated statistically, in order to optimise the technical quality of our website, as well as the quality of its content.

In the case of users who would like to send us an application by e-mail, we need the user’s personal details given voluntarily in order to initiate the conclusion of a contract, and, if applicable, to fulfil the contract. The latter concern the data that needs to be provided – such as the user’s form of address, name, address and e-mail address, telephone number and any other voluntary details in regard to education and training, professional experience, skills in the sense of additional qualifications and preferences regarding a position with BFFT, giving details of the desired professional field, the preferred job location, working hours, etc. Any documents that you send us as an attachment (such as a CV) will be handled in line with the statutory provisions.

BFFT gathers and stores such data itself, and assures you that the latter is exclusively passed on to customers requiring an employee with a profile such as that of the applicant.

We take technical and organisational measures to secure our website and any other systems used by us against loss, destruction, unauthorised access, alteration or dissemination of your data by unauthorised persons.

We would like to point out that data transmission over the Internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) may suffer from security gaps. It is not possible to protect data from access by third parties in an entirely secure manner.

Every time third party content on our own website is accessed, the user’s IP address is passed on to the server where the content is to be found. The latter is necessary in order to make the content available.

2. Scope of the data collection and storage

a) Users only have to provide personal details if the latter are necessary for the application. Essentially, we only gather and store personal data in so far as it is necessary in order to process applications. Personal data of the user (applicant) is transmitted to customers of BFFT in so far as the latter is necessary to arrange a job for the applicant. Whether it is necessary is determined by the jointly agreed job and skills profile of the applicant, as long as it appears possible to arrange a job with a customer of BFFT. Should the user wish the circle of prospective employers to be limited, he or she is to inform BFFT in writing.

b) Should your application with us not be successful, your application documents will be returned and any data stored deleted six months after concluding the application procedure, unless you have agreed to the data being used beyond that deadline or have raised an objection and statutory requirements oppose such handling of your data.

3. Use of cookies, Facebook, Google and Twitter

In order to make your experience when you visit our website more appealing to you and enable the use of particular features, BFFT utilises cookies. These are small text files, which are stored on the user’s computer. Most of the cookies used by us are removed from your hard drive again once the browser session has been terminated (i.e. they are session-based cookies). Other cookies will remain on the user’s computer, and enable BFFT to recognise the user’s computer again at their next visit (i.e. they are permanent cookies) and thereby be able to display personalised content.

Of course the user is also free to look at BFFT’s websites without cookies being used. If the user would prefer BFFT not to recognise his or her PC again, the user can prevent cookies from being saved on his or her hard disk, by choosing “Do not accept any cookies” in the browser settings. The user can infer how that functions, in detail, from the instructions of the company engineering the browser.

The user’s attention is drawn to the fact that deactivating this function may lead to functional limitations of BFFT’s websites.

Data privacy statement for the use of Facebook plugins (“Like” button)

Plug-ins of the social network Facebook, 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA, are integrated into our websites. You can recognise the Facebook plug-ins by the Facebook logo or the “Like” button on our website. You can find an overview of the Facebook plug-ins here: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/plug-ins/

When visiting our website, a direct connection is produced between your web browser and the Facebook server via the plug-in. Facebook thus receives the information that you have visited our website with your address. If you click the Facebook “Like” button while you are logged into your Facebook account, you can link the content of our sites to your Facebook profile. As a result, Facebook can assign the visit to our site to your user account. We are pointing out that we, as the provider of the sites, are not aware of the content of the data transmitted or its use by Facebook. You can obtain further information on the latter in Facebook’s privacy policy at http://de-de.facebook.com/policy.php

If you do not wish Facebook to be able to allocate your visit to our pages to your Facebook user account, please log out of your Facebook user account.

Data privacy statement for the use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies, i.e. text files which are stored on your computer and which enable an analysis of the use of the website by you. The information generated by the cookie on your use of this website is usually transferred to a server of Google in the USA and saved there. If you activate IP anonymisation on this website, your IP address is however first truncated by Google within Member States of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area.

Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a server of Google in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the web site, in order to compile reports on the website activities, and in order to provide the website operator with further services associated with the use of the website and Internet. The IP address transmitted by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics is not merged with other data.

You may prevent cookies being stored by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out to you that, in this case, you may not necessarily be able to use all functions of this web site in their entirety. You can, furthermore, prevent the data generated by the cookie which relates to your use of the web site (incl. your IP address) from being recorded by Google, as well as the processing of such data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

5. Collection and storage of usage data

In order to optimise our website, we gather and store data, such as the date and time that the page was accessed, the page from which you have accessed our site, etc. This is done anonymously, without linking the details with your name, etc. We also use cookies to gather and store usage data (see, in that respect, Clause 3, Use of Cookies). We gather such data exclusively for statistical purposes, to optimise our website further and to be able to design our website in an even more attractive way. The data is gathered and stored in an anonymised or pseudonymised form, and does not permit any conclusion to be drawn about you as a natural person.

6. Dedicated use of data

BFFT adheres to the principle of dedicated use of data, and therefore only gathers, processes and stores a user’s personal data for the purposes specified. Personal data is only passed on to third parties if it is necessary for providing the service or fulfilling the agreement. It is also only transmitted to state institutions and authorities entitled to receive such information within the scope of the statutory obligations to provide information or if BFFT is obliged to give information based on a judicial decision.

The employees and service companies commissioned by BFFT have been obliged by BFFT to secrecy and to adhere to the data privacy provisions.

7. The right to receive information, right of revocation and right of opposition

The user shall at any time, without giving reasons, be entitled to receive information on his or her data stored at BFFT free of charge. You are entitled to revoke your consent to the use of your personal data at any time with effect for the future. It is sufficient for this purpose if an e-mail is received by us at info(at)bfft.de or Datenschutz(at)bfft.de.

In addition, the user may block, correct or delete his or her data kept by BFFT at any time. Requests for information and any other requests are to be directed to the Data Privacy Officer at BFFT, datenschutz@bfft.de.
